With the whole world and his dog getting involved in email marketing to maintain and expand their business it is no longer enough to just send well written carefully worded emails.

Regular text email marketing, even if it is personalised with the recipients name (which it always should be) will rarely get read all the way through and is usually forgotten about almost as soon as the recipient has clicked on to the next email.

Let's face it for most Internet marketers the emails we send are our advertisements and what is the last text only ad that you remember? Don't try too hard, you probably cannot remember a single one.

The answer to getting your email marketing noticed and remembered clearly lies in sending more than just regular lines of nicely worded text.

Most bulk email auto responders give you the opportunity to use HTML to compose your emails and embedding a short, (30 seconds is long enough) exciting video at the start of your email will get your prospects attention.

In many cases a video comprising of a series of skillfully and artfully spliced still images backed up with a few frames of text and synchronised to a lively and fast paced musical score will have a far greater impact than just about anything else.

Powerful Ways to Get Your Subject Line Noticed!

Just because somebody has subscribed to your mailing list does not automatically mean they will open and read your emails. Often a person has subscribed to many email marketing lists and simply do not have the time to open and read them all so they only click on the ones where the subject line gets their attention. People will usually read the subject line before they read your message, so it is important they get noticed. Here are some simple, but powerful tips to get your or messages noticed.

The use of text symbols in your subject line is a simple but effective way of making your email stand out You could use them between words or start and end start and end your subject line with symbols. ( *, $, >,{,], £,).

Combining upper and lower case letters together with the creative use of white space is another easy way to get your email noticed but be CaRe >FuL * nOt % TO OveruSe\ these methods. You must be creative and not merely throw a random mix of confusing spaces, symbols and upper and lower case letters into the mix otherwise your text will look stupid and you will lose credibility.

White space is a powerful tool. Use extra white space creatively in your subject line. You can add extra blank spaces between your words or letters.

"STOP!", "WARNING", CAUTION", are just some of the many forms high impact words may take. People are conditioned to stop what they are doing and pay attention when they see one of these words which is why including one in the subject line will get their attention. Other ATTENTION! grabbing words are "AmaZing", "Surprising", "ShocKing", and so on.

People will almost always assume any question is directly aimed (and therefore relevant) at themselves and will usually answer it in their mind stimulating themselves into giving more attention to the text. Obviously if you are emailing to your own targeted list you should ask only questions pertinent to you readers.

The general public are, on the whole, a greedy bunch. Almost everybody wants something for nothing so using the words "FREE", "Bonus", "Special", "Surprise", "Gift" etc. in your subject line will get most peoples attention. Like your questions your offer should be attractive to your target audience.

Whenever possible personalise your emails subject line with the recipients name, or at least their geographical location. Using somebody's name is a compliment in itself but if you can also couple that with a compliment for example ( [NAME] Your opinion is highly regarded) the effect is explosive to your mail opening rates.

Many of us start our home based business purely as a way to earn some extra income. After looking around the Internet for ideas it quickly becomes apparent to most (particularly those of us with limited or no computer skills or Internet marketing knowledge) that the quickest and easiest way to get started is by way of affiliate marketing. We fast realise that the only way to build a strong and lasting business is to stop promoting the site provided to us by the affiliate program and build our own website to market the affiliate product, and what a thrill it is when we type in the URL of our site and there it is, our first true Internet presence.
Once built and hosted we then rush to the search engines and type in the title name of our website, somehow expecting to see it at the top of the listing. Oh the disappointment when out of the thousands or millions of results that pop up, our site cannot be found, time and time again we return in a vain hope that somehow things will have changed and our site will miraculously appear at the top of the listing only to be met with more disappointment.
After learning how to actually market and gain exposure for our web site we eventually find our site on page 2 of the mighty Google (like most people I never look past page 2), and the sense of satisfaction and achievement is marred only by the fact that we are not on page 1. Naturally we redouble our efforts because now the only important thing is to appear on page one. Eventually, and perhaps quite soon if we have correctly learnt our new trade, we enter our search term and there we are on the coveted page 1 of Google. Of course once achieved that is not nearly enough, now we want the top slot, we want to be No1 on page 1 but not just on Google, we want the other major search engines as well, Yahoo and Bing also hold a tremendous prestige when our site is listed at No 1.
Every morning I type the name of my web site into the search engines (Bing shows over 27 million results) and the thrill of seeing my web site at No1 is much, much greater even than the thrill of seeing my bank account growing bigger the longer I can stay there.

This pinpoints the myriads of self-conscious, inferiority complex wallflowers. "That's me! I want to read this; maybe it tells me exactly what to do about it."

As you go along, you will notice how many of these subject lines are interrogative. They ask a question to which people can't resist. And the best ones are challenges, which are difficult to ignore, cannot be dismissed with a quick yes or no and without further reading, are pertinent and relevant to the reader.

Curiosity is part of us. I have yet to meet someone who's not starving to learn new things or hear more about his most burning interests.

The winning subject lines I write have one thing in common - they talk directly to your readers' interest, wants and needs. You can't fake it with email marketing. Never risk your reputation!

Let's quickly analyze WHY the subject line above is power-packed

1. "Anxiety"... a common trait among most people. Parents taught us to avoid talking with strangers. And most folks are stopping dead in their tracks when approaching new people. Some would rather sell shoes than talk to people they don't know, particularly the opposite gender.

I guess it takes real discipline and courage to approach and talk with the opposite sex; the great news is that this "skill" is learnable.

Ok, this not a guide on dating, so let's jump back to the main topic.

2. "speaking"... people are not born public speakers. This is something which we learn during our lifetime. It involves one-on-one, direct eye contact and other nitty-gritty aspects.

Someone reading the line would open the email hoping to find a solution to fight speaking anxiety or an alternative to it; does sending letters or emails work for others?:)

Boost Your Online Sales With Long Tail Marketing

Years ago, when I first heard the phrase 'Long Tail Marketing' I did a double take and wondered what the heck the phrase was referring to? Little did I know then how important a factor it would play in the overall success of my online websites.

I first heard of Long Tail Marketing from Chris Knight who runs EzineArticles.com, an online article site which is ranked around the Top 500 sites on the Internet. EzineArticles had also sent over 50 thousand unique visitors to my main website so I knew any marketing information coming from Chris was the real deal.

Unfortunately, when you run several sites on Internet marketing you are constantly bombarded with online marketing products, techniques and the latest marketing fads... you become very cynical of the latest trends. I only half-heartily started testing Longer Keyword marketing -- huge mistake -- for I immediately started seeing results with my online sales. Just wish I had paid more attention to Chris's advice on Long Tail marketing and implemented it sooner in my overall marketing strategy.

It has made all the difference in the profitability of my websites. The reasons why are explained below, as well as a detailed description of Long-Tail Marketing and how you can use it to boost or increase your online sales.

Don't make my initial mistake, discover everything you can about Long Tail Marketing and start using it in your own marketing.

What is Long Tail Marketing?

Long Tail Marketing refers to the technique or method of using a long string of keywords when targeting prospective buyers. Instead of using/targeting one or two single keywords in your online marketing - you use a longer keyword phrase or a whole group of related keywords; thus the name, a long tail or string of keywords.

Perhaps, the best way to explain this type of marketing is to use a simple example. Lets say you have a travel business and you have an online site associated with your business. Instead of targeting the keyword 'vacations' which will be very competitive and very hard to place on the first page SERPs in the major search engines such as Google, MSN, Yahoo... now with Long Tail Marketing, instead of targeting the broader competitive keyword 'vacations', you target a longer, more precise phrase: 'honeymoon vacation packages to Niagara Falls'.

Keep in mind that keywords are the exact words surfers type into search engines to find what they're looking for on the web. You can plainly see that the second keyword phrase is more targeted than the general keyword 'vacations'.

Why Is Long Tail Marketing So Effective?

There are several reasons why this type of marketing is so effective. It has narrowed down and targeted exactly what the prospective buyer is searching for. It is precisely the product or service that they intend to buy. It's only a matter of you selling it to them.

But more importantly, by using Long Tail Marketing, you have found the prospective buyer at the exact time or stage when they are ready to buy. You have found them at the right moment in their buying process -- they have made up their minds to exactly what they want and are just looking for a quality product or service to meet their needs. You satisfy their needs with a quality product or service.

Lets look at an example from my own marketing, I run a simple online laptop guide within one of my sites. Instead of targeting the very competitive and unreachable general keyword 'laptops', I go for a longer keyword phrase such as 'best gaming laptops'. And the even more targeted 'Alienware Aurora m7700' -- someone searching for the last keyword phrase more than likely has already decided on what type of gaming laptop they want to buy. This last keyword phrase is much more likely to convert into a sale.

How Do I Use Long Tail Marketing With My Site?

Remember back to when you last bought something online, what keywords did you use to find it? If you have an online business, you must target the keyword phrases your customers would use to find your product or service. You have to find these keyword phrases and use them in your marketing.

Most professional marketers use some type of keyword software to research their keywords and keyword phrases. I use the very powerful Keyword Elite by Brad Callen and it quickly gives me all the keyword information I need to put my Long Tail Marketing into place.

But this software is expensive, so another alternative would be to use such sites as Wordtracker or the one I like http://www.nichebot.com/, it will tell you how many searches are made each month for your chosen keyword phrase and give you some indication of your competition.

The real beauty of using Long Tail keywords -- there is little or no competition for your keywords. You will find it easier to place on the first page of the different search engine for your targeted phrase. If you do Pay-Per-Click advertising, you will save on costs by using Long Tail keywords. Plus, both your conversion rate and ROI will be higher.

Marketing Tip: Always create a page on your site for each Long Tail keyword phrase you target, place it in the title and the URL. Plus, if you write articles, place your keyword phrase in the title of your article and syndicate your articles around the web using sites like EzineArticles.com mentioned above.

Of course, all income results from Long Tail Marketing or any marketing method will depend on your own effects and marketing abilities. No one can guarantee sales but I hope you will give Long Tail Marketing a go. It is simple, direct and effective.

Long Tail Marketing has made all the difference in how profitable my sites have become. It is the one marketing method I use daily and plan to use for years to come. In fact, Long Tail Marketing has become the backbone of my whole online business. Go figure!

The future of home based business is getting rosier and rosier at EarnaLot thanks to the release of yet another website. Admittedly it is only a stop gap posted simply to start generating it's own web ranking and of course reserve the name. This one built and hosted by the good folks at Yolasite, another free service introduced to you by the tight Yorkshireman. By the way for my friends not familiar with the stingy reputation of Yorkshire people (Yorkshire is a county in England) think of the miserly reputations of the Scottish or the Canadians (though not quite as bad as the good people from Quebec).

Why am I building more websites?

Well I have several reasons for building more sites deisigned for the home based business owner and I will be covering most of them in my newsletters, for now you will just have to be satisfied with the explanation that I am about to give the original EarnaLot.org site a major re-working and in the mean time I will be aiming most of my traffic at these two sites (this one and the Wix site (( view here))I published a couple of days ago). Get Paid To Smoke

Recently I've been playing around with a couple of free,
very easy to use website builders.
These are both extremely easy to get started with and each
provide a completely different format which can be used in
entirely different ways.

The first one I started playing with was wix.com.

The reason I started using wix.com was to quickly build splash
pages to use with surf exchanges.
This excellent program provides free hosting and has ton's of very
easy to use graphics and special effects.
So far I have built three sites, used many of the functions available
and still have not read any of the instructions-that's how easy it is to use.
I have absolute zero knowledge of Html (until recently I thought html
was an abbreviation for hotmail) so if I can build a site without even
reading the instructions you can imagine how easy it is.

The other one I have been playing with is Squidoo.com

Squidoo.com is more like a blog than a regular website. Again it is very
easy to use, though I did have to read a few of the instructions to get started.

As a way to get away from my home based business I have a weekend job selling static caravans (trailers to my American friends).

It's all very well having a work at home business but it can stop you meeting 'real' people so I find it a real benefit to get out and do something that allows me to meet lots of happy people so what could be better than doing a job where everybody is on vacation or having a weekend away.

Anyway yesterday a couple came into my sales office, their clothes, though clean were old and scruffy, their hair long and unkept looking, the man had 5 or 6 days of grey stubble and the woman was obese and had a 'tash. They arrived in a beat up, dirty car that looked nearly as old as the couple.

After a few minutes conversation I showed them the cheapest caravan I had (about $17,000).
90 minutes later they gave me a deposit for a $65,000 caravan.

The sale was really difficult because I had allienated the couple by making one of the cardinal sins of a salesman and pre-judged them thinking they had no money. It took a lot of hard work to then get them to like me enough to buy from me.

I am proud that I don't usually pre-judge but yesterday I did and it almost cost me the sale.

When I started my Home Based Business I realised that one of the disadvantages to a work at home business was the sedentary life style it could easily lead to.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who has started an Internet business partly because, like many salespeople, I'm basically a lazy person and liked the idea of punching a few keys being the hardest work I would have to do.

• No commuting


• No pounding streets


• No physical effort

The problem of course is your brain needs a good supply of oxygen to function efficiently and rolling out of bed late in the day and going straight to your computer to do a few hours work before becoming a couch potato for the rest of the day doesn't exactly stimulate the old grey matter to perform at it's best.

Luckily for me I have a fairly short attention span and get bored quite easily so I take regular 5 or 10 minute breaks from work. These little 'mini breaks' used to be spent gazing into space and daydreaming.

Now while Daydreaming is not a total waste of time as it can provide fuel for our motivation, and let's face it for many of us the whole reason we started our home business in the first place was to fulfill our daydreams, it is not in itself productive.

I still daydream (a lot) but for the last few months rather than just sitting there gazing into space I stand up and exercise for a few minutes. I use a pair of dumbbells and the spindly arm's, rounded shoulders and pigeon chest have already been coated in a layer of muscle, I look and feel so much better, overall I feel healthier and more invigorated and most importantly my brain is getting regular boost's of oxygen and blood and as a result I work much more efficiently.

So keep taking your little breaks from the work but do a little exercise I guarantee after a few weeks you will feel better and work more productively.

Hi,
I've just started a weekend job selling static caravans and I expected to have a good Easter selling lots of caravans but as often happens the good old British weather put the skids on that.
I spent much of the day reviewing my Plug in Profit training notes, in case you have'nt guessed I'm a complete novice at everything computer related and so far it's taken me 6weeks to get to day 12 of my training to set up my home business.
I'm sure it's all very simple especially if you have even basic computer knowledge and experience or can afford the few pounds to get Stone Evans and his team to completely automate it for you(at the moment I'm too broke to even pay attention).
